Alex and Brooke met at BYU–Idaho in a computer science classe. They ended up sitting near each other and started chatting between lectures. Eventually Alex asked for Brooke’s number… strictly for “school stuff,” of course. Brooke wasn’t totally convinced and may have been a little suspicious.
What she didn’t know was that Alex had already spent weeks trying to work up the courage to ask her out. The day he finally decided to do it, though, Brooke got incredibly sick and disappeared from class for an entire week. Perfect timing.
When she finally came back, Alex didn’t waste the opportunity again. He asked her out, and Brooke said yes. The day before their first official date, Brooke got a little nervous and texted Alex asking if he wanted to “study.” As it turns out, no studying happened at all—they spent the entire time talking and laughing instead.
Their first date included playing basketball in the rain (which Alex very generously let Brooke win), followed by hours of wandering around town talking about everything and nothing. At the end of the night, as Alex walked Brooke back to her car, Brooke turned to him and blurted out, “We’re going to go out again, right?”
Luckily for both of them, that answer was an easy yes. After many more dates, lots of laughs, and plenty of time together, Alex finally asked Brooke one very important question—and this time she was the one to say yes. The rest of their story is just beginning.
